Now this is my first blog post here at ZipSleeve, so I thought I'd take a little time to fill you in on the last few months work in getting this site ready for launch.

It was a little before Christmas when I received my order of Laptop Sleeves from Question Why, the UK designers and wholesale company.  I took receipt of two pretty large regular (and pretty battered) brown cardboard boxes, really nothing much to look at.  However inside, to my delight, was my first order of sleeves - 4 sizes and 4 colours as I wanted!  It was an exciting day, though I remember also feeling a twinge of trepidation knowing the work that lay ahead!

I already knew back then that there just wasn't enough time to get this website up and ready in time for the Christmas rush.  It was a shame to miss Christmas, though I figured I could get started in January 2010 and have the whole site launched pretty soon afterwards...  Well that was the plan!

It's now March and ZipSleeve is eventually live - Wahey!  I have to admit the whole development cycle has been a bit of a struggle at times, having to learn a new system (Shopify) and work on it in my spare time.  But now I know how it all fits together I can marvel and admire it's powerful simplicity - in fact I'm a Shopify convert, and would recommend looking at this system if you're planning on setting up an ecommerce business.

So I've sold some ZipSleeves already, friends, colleagues and people I know have all come to look and buy - it's a nice start, and I hope it continues...  Naturally I'm planning on getting more stock once I know how demand will settle, and then I've many more ideas up my sleeve (no pun intended - honest!)
